Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Tenth Street Technology respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal information we collect through www.tst.co.za, why we collect it, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

1. Who we are

Tenth Street Technology ("TST", "we", "us") is an IT services provider at 41 Olympic Road, Blairgowrie, Johannesburg. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this notice.

This notice covers our website, our contact form, and enquiries you send us by email or phone. Personal information we process while delivering IT services to clients is covered by our service agreements with those clients.

2. What we collect

  • Contact form: first and last name, email address, subject and your message.

  • Email and phone: your name, contact details and whatever you tell us.

  • Website visits: IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, collected through cookies (section 4).

We do not ask for special personal information (such as health or religious beliefs) and ask that you don't include it in your message. Our website is not aimed at children.

3. Why we use it

We use your personal information only to:

  • reply to your enquiry and give you the information or quote you asked for;

  • arrange and provide services you request from us;

  • keep our website working, secure and protected from spam; and

  • understand, in general terms, how visitors use our website.

Under POPIA, we process it because you asked us to (to take steps towards a contract with you), because it is in our legitimate interest to answer enquiries and run a secure website, or with your consent.

We will not send you marketing messages unless you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.

4. Cookies and third-party services

Cookies are small files your browser stores when you visit a website. Our site uses:

  • Necessary cookies set by Squarespace (our website platform), to keep the site working and secure.

  • Analytics cookies set by Squarespace, to count visits and see which pages are used.

  • Google reCAPTCHA on the contact form, to check that a form is sent by a person, not a bot.

  • Google Maps on the Contact page, to show our location.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may stop parts of the site, such as the contact form, from working. Google's use of data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers ("operators") that help us run our website and email, under agreements that require them to keep it secure and confidential:

  • Squarespace, which hosts our website and stores contact form submissions;

  • Google, for reCAPTCHA spam protection and maps; and

  • Microsoft, which hosts our business email.

These providers may store information on servers outside South Africa, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on their data protection terms to give your information protection comparable to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.

We may also disclose personal information where the law requires it.

6. How long we keep it and how we protect it

We keep enquiry details only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and keep a reasonable record of it, and no longer than 12 months after our last contact, unless you become a client or the law requires us to keep it longer. We then delete it or make it anonymous.

We protect personal information with reasonable technical and organisational measures, including access controls, multi-factor authentication on our systems and encrypted (HTTPS) connections to our website. If we believe your personal information has been accessed without authorisation, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

7. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • ask whether we hold personal information about you and request a copy of it;

  • ask us to correct or delete personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or no longer needed;

  • object to us processing your personal information, including for direct marketing;

  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent; and

  • lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (section 8).

To use any of these rights, contact our Information Officer (section 8). We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request.
